Performance History

 

Over the last forty years, we have participated in many festivals and concerts and have hosted our own special event each year. At our yearly fondue dance, everyone gathers around their fondue pots for delicious Swiss cheese fondue followed by a dance performance from the group and a DJ’d modern dance.

We thoroughly enjoy travelling throughout Canada and to Switzerland to join others in the celebration of Swiss culture. Below is a list of just some of the events and performances we have taken part in over the years.

  • Canada Day and Heritage Day celebrations, Calgary and Banff, Alberta (intermittently throughout the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s)

  • Cowboy Yodel Festival, Airdrie, Alberta (2012–2015)

  • Edmonton Swiss Men’s Choir Winzerfest, Alberta (2018)

  • Eidgenössische Trachtenfest, Schwyz, Switzerland (2010)

  • Federation of Swiss Societies of Eastern Canada Swiss National Day Celebration, The Eastern Townships, Sutton (2007)

  • Interior Swiss Society Spring Dinner and Dance, Vernon, British Columbia (2012)

  • Landsgemeinde Swiss Cultural Society camping weekends, Alberta (yearly since our inception)

  • North American Swiss Singing Alliance (NASSA) Swiss Fest, Banff, Alberta (2009)

  • Unspunnen Fest, Interlaken, Switzerland (2006, 2017)

  • Various retirement communities across Calgary including Chartwell Harbours and Prince of Peace, Alberta (yearly)

  • Wildrose Yodel Club’s Jodel Fest, Innisfail, Alberta (2018)

  • Wildrose Yodel Club’s Spring Fest, Rimbey, Alberta (2017)
