Our Club Now

We are the only Swiss folk dance group in Canada. We now dance to music played from an iPod on a Bluetooth speaker, but our vision to share Swiss culture with our community remains.

Our current instructors are Barbara Krusi, Helga Wagner, and Daniela McSween, and they do an excellent job of teaching us new dances each year and helping us remember all the dances we have in our repertoire.

Current club members include Helga Wagner, Li Zahnd, Margot Bigler, Edith Furber, Käthi Gyger, Maria Krohmer, Barbara Krusi, Daniela McSween, Irmi Geuder, Daniela Raduner, Becky Noelle, Nägi Nigg, and Silvia Mettler.

Our club is about so much more than dancing and celebrating Swiss culture. We are a community of women supporting each other through life’s ups and downs. Every year we enjoy a special Christmas celebration and year-end party in June along with mini celebrations for each group member’s birthday.

We also plan social events outside of dancing including hiking, skiing, and knitting! Read more about how joining our club can benefit your life here.

We are always looking for new members and new places to perform. Contact our president to request a performance or learn more about our club. Ask about our practices or just come on out! We practice Tuesday evenings 7 to 8:30 p.m. at the Calgary Bridge Centre (1140 8 St SE).
